About Cecilia

Cecilia is a qualified counselling therapist with a special interest in addictions and compulsive behaviours. She has worked in a variety of settings and has managed a clinical team within a residential treatment environment for individuals addressing substance misuse/alcohol dependence and dual diagnosis. Her expertise and experience enable her to tailor personal recovery focused care plans reflecting your specific needs.

Cecilia works with individuals, couples and families addressing issues relating to addictions and eating disorders. Cecilia supports clients whose lives have been disrupted by addictions and eating disorders at all stages of recovery and individuals affected by another's substance misuse or disordered eating.

Cecilia came to study psychology at postgraduate level from an academic background firmly rooted in the humanities. Throughout her studies has been a constant area of interest - people, their motivations and their struggles. Her background enables her to draw upon insights from philosophy, psychology, and mindfulness approaching the challenges her clients experience as difficulties of life and living, rather than pathologised problems. She is currently pursuing research interests at Oxford in Mindfulness based approaches and their efficacy in the treatment of populations recovering from addiction.

Cecilia is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and subscribes to their Guidelines for Ethical Practice. Cecilia currently sees clients in South West London, at locations in SW1 and SW17.
